This weekend, the weather forecast did not promise sunshine, so I decided to stay local to home.

As I said in my previous video, rain is the bane for car photography. On Sunday morning the day looked good and Newcastle United were playing Liverpool at home.

After brunch I headed up to Ponteland and that isn’t pronounced Ponty-Land as you may have heard at times on Radio 2’s traffic and travel. It’s pronounced Pon-TEE-Lund.

I saw a couple of old MGs and thought to myself — ‘I bet this is going to be a classic car day.’ Later on, I was amazed to see this 1957 Mercedes 300 SL Roadster.

This is the first one I have seen on the road, and without doubt, the most expensive car I have seen on the roads in the North East!

Although I wasn’t able to get any shots of the front, I do hope you still like it. Now then folks (and all you avid car enthusiasts), how much do you think a 63 year-old car is worth? Please post your guesses below.

As a bonus, I saw Newcastle United player Jonjo Shelvey on his way to St. James’ Park. So I’ve included his Range Rover in the video too.
